Music Education With Mr. Gould

It is my belief that all children are entitled to a well rounded musical education.  Humans, by our very nature have music inside us at birth.  I take great pride in guiding our students through the early years of this essential education.  Our music curriculum allows me the opportunity to nurture our students through vocal control, rhythm, music theory, composition and of course, performance.  During my time with the Juniper Park family, I have witnessed many students expand their musicianship and continue a rewarding journey through music.  It is personally important to me that all students and parents see the value that music provides.  As young minds pass through our doors, it is my belief that my role as a music educator is to help shape the "whole" person.  This cannot be accomplished in core subjects alone.  Without an appreciation in the fine arts as human expression this simply will not happen.  Plato once said that, "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything" It should be all of our goal to allow the minds of tomorrow to understand what this truly means.
